Fine Arts & Multi Media Centre
A flexible venue, the Fine Arts & Multi Media Centre offers a 390 seat theatre, instructional, presentation and conference space, and multipurpose areas for performing and visual arts in Olds and area. This space and its offerings respond to the fine arts and programming needs of Olds High School, Olds College and the surrounding community. This facility opened in February 2009.
The Vision
- Designed to respond to the fine arts programming needs of the core high school by integrating band, drama, art and cosmetology
- Will provide the learner with an enhanced educational environment for performace
- will create a transition to higher levels of fine arts education
- Will open up a vast range of opportunities for Olds College students and the surrounding communities
- will provide a venue for community fine arts activities and performances
The Facility
- The Fine Arts & Multi Media Centre is located adjacent to Highway 2A
- Includes the 390 seat TransCanada Theatre (with the capacity to expand to 500 seats)
- Offers several configurations through the use of moveable ramped seating and a variety of staging options, including dinner theatre and conventional theatre configurations for plays, dance, musical performaces or independent film.
