The Core High School
A Leading Educational Environment
The Core High School is a 700+ capacity facility for high school students, grades nine to twelve in Olds and area. The new high school integrates the Chinook’s Edge School Division motto “Where Students Come First”. Students engage in learning in flexible teaching and learning spaces that provide classroom, team, and individual configurations allowing for self-directed study, project-based and collaborative learning. This facility will open in the Fall, 2009.

This facility will feature natural light, an open design and spatial variety. It is located at the south end of the Campus.
The Vision

Unique Solutions
The Core High School will:
- incorporate core programming necessary for high school completion
- utilize CLC and Olds College facilities to provide enhance learning
- encourage team approaches to instruction
- support the personalized learning of students
- provide educational opportunities through house system, seminar opportunities and grade grouping
- offer a full complement of optional courses including CTS, fine arts, food, fashion, computers, media arts, construction technology, mechanics and fabrication
- offer the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP), the Green Certificate and Knowledge and Employability Skills
- present opportunities for service learning and volunteerism
