- The aim is seamless transition between high school, post-secondary education, entrance into the workforce and trades, and apprenticeship programs
- Another goal is to encourage rural students to remain in rural Alberta if they choose
- The CLC provides guidance and support for all student choices

- Plans include advantages for learners of all ages, including parents and the larger community
