Green Space
The Green Space Project will coordinate, monitor, evaluate, advise and make recommendations regarding CLC green space in alignment and to support the achievement of the CLC outcomes:
- promote environmental sustainability
- provide innovative education for all learners
The Green Space Project will work in collaboration with CESD, Olds College, the Town of Olds, Mountain View County and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- recommending a definition of environmental sustainability
- develop guiding principles for the green spaces/horticulture resources of the CLC
- develop design recommendations for outdoor spaces creating an innovative and diverse learning and research opportunities while providing community members an environment in which to enjoy outdoor activities.
Strategies
- strategies to enhance energy efficiency in the CLC buildings
- enhance daylight and views from offices and classrooms
- integration of walking/running/cycling paths and facilities for other recreational needs.
